Longitudinal Study of Generations (California, 1971-2000)

From the National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging, the Longitudinal Study of Generations tracks 300 3-generation California families at intervals (1971, 1985, 1988, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000) over a variety of social, demographic, and health factors.

Japanese General Social Survey combined data

This collection is the combination of surveys designed to solicit political, sociological, and economic information from people living in Japan from 2000 to 2003.  The annual Japanese General Social Survey measures attitudes in the Japanese population.

The entire series of Japanese General Social Surveys is also available, including 2005 data.

Monitoring the Future: A Continuing Study of the Lifestyles and Values of Youth, 1976-1992: Concatenated Core File

“This data collection contains the “core” variables for the first 17 years of this annual survey that explores changes in the important values, behaviors, and lifestyle orientations of contemporary American youth. Personal and family characteristics, political and religious beliefs, school performance and educational goals, and type and degree of drug usage are some of the topics explored in the core variables.”

Monitoring the Future: A Continuing Study of American Youth (2007)

This is the 2007 update of the survey.

“This survey of students is part of a series that explores changes in important values, behaviors, and lifestyle orientations of contemporary American youth. Students are randomly assigned to complete one of six questionnaires, each with a different subset of topical questions, but all containing a set of “core” questions on demographics and drug use. There are about 1,400 variables across the questionnaires.”  There are three segments available by age group:
