Medicare Health Outcomes

The Medicare Health Outcomes Survey, 1998-2007 is the first patient reported outcomes measure used in Medicare managed care. It is a continuous study that measures the physical and mental health of Medicare beneficiaries over a two-year period.

Evaluation of The Urban Health Initiative: Working to Ensure the Health and Safety of Children

The National Evaluation of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Urban Health Initiative (UHI): Survey of Adults and Youth (SAY), Waves 1-3,1998-2005 is a survey that asked of both parents and their 10-18 year old children, regarding children’s health, safety, perceptions of neighborhoods and schools, family relations, quality of city services, and other issues.

Longitudinal Study of Generations (California, 1971-2000)

From the National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging, the Longitudinal Study of Generations tracks 300 3-generation California families at intervals (1971, 1985, 1988, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000) over a variety of social, demographic, and health factors.

Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS), 1998-2005

From the National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging, the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) provides information on health status and quality of life of the elderly aged 65 and older in 22 provinces of China in the period 1998 to 2005. Questions address diet, lifestyle, medical conditions, and demographic characteristics.

National Survey on Drug Use and Health

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health (2007) reports use of  illegal drugs, nonmedical use of prescription drugs, and alcohol and tobacco.  Demographic information and substance abuse treatment history are also reported.

The survey was formerly titled the National Household Survey on Drug Abuse.

India Human Development Survey (IHDS)

The India Human Development Survey is a national survey conducted in 2005.

“Two one-hour interviews in each household covered topics concerning health, education, employment, economic status, marriage, fertility, gender relations, and social capital. Children aged 8-11 completed short reading, writing and arithmetic tests. Additional village, school, and medical facility interviews will be available at a later date.”
